Who is who gather in Lagos today for presentation of ‘100 Years of Amalgamation: Igbos, What Hope in Nigeria?’

A galaxy of distinguished personalities are expected to gather this morning in Lagos for the public presentation of the centenary book 100 Years of Amalgamation: Igbos, What Hope in Nigeria?

Written by an Igbo journalist, Peter Anosike, with Foreword by Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife (Okwadike), the public presentation of the book is being organised by Ohanaeze Ndigbo Southwest Zone, which was use the opportunity to give cheques to the maiden beneficiaries of its N100 Million Education Endowment Fund to indigent Igbo students in tertiary institutions living in the South-West part of the country.

Venue is the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island, while take-off time is 11:00 a.m.

Special Guest of Honour at the event is Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, with First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan (Mama Peace) as Mother of the Day.

Dr. Gary Enwo-Igariwey, President, General Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide; Prof Anya O Anya,

President, Ndigbo Lagos; and Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu (rtd), former Governor of Lagos State, are the Guests of Honour.

Othe dignitaries expected at the event include Chief Arthur Eze, Chief Chidi Anyaegbu, Chief Alex Otti, and Chief Uche Ogar as Launchers.

Eze Uche Dimgba (Okpotemba), Eze Udo of Ikeja land, High Chief Aloy Obi, Onye Ndu Ndigbo in Oyo State, and Eze Willie Ejimnkeonye, Eze Igbo Ogun State, are Royal Fathers of the Day.

The Chief Host is Prince Nathaniel Amaechi Uzomah, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo

South-West zone. He will be assisted by Hosts Chief Sir Oliver Akubueze, Grand Patron, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State and Southwest zone, and Chief Uche Akwukwaegbu (Bawas),

Traditional Prime Minister, Ibeku Ancient Kingdom, Umuahia, Abia State.
