Sorry we're reporting late for this must-win 2015 AFCON qualifier between Super Eagles of Nigeria and hosts Red Devils of Congo in Pointe-Noire.

Nigeria are under pressure to win by at least two clear goals this afternoon to stay on course to defend their African title at next year’s AFCON in Equatorial Guinea. The Super Eagles are currently third on four points from as many matches and are gunning for vengeance over second-placed Congo, who stunned them 3-2 in Calabar in September.

Not in the mood to take chances, Nigeria’s gaffer Stephen Keshi has handed a starting shirt to fans’ favourite Ike Uche, who is back in the Eagles fold for the first time since Nigeria won the last AFCON in February 2013 in South Africa. Uche, who is Nigeria’s best striker on current form, has been handed a licence to shoot down Congo alongside Emmanuel Emenike and Ahmed Musa. He says he is not under pressure to deliver, even as Musa, who has been on fire lately, is threatening to rain fire and brimstone on the Red Devils.

However, no sparks have been seen from the Eagles so far, with the Red Devils looking deadlier in the first stanza of the game, just concluded. Will Keshi give the Eagles the winning formula as they prepare for the second half?
