The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says about 160 firms of professional Estate Surveyors and Valuers have submitted bids to provide valuation and land acquisition services.

A statement by the NNPC Spokesperson, Mr Ndu Ughamadu in Abuja on Saturday, said the exercise was conducted by the Group General Manager, Supply Chain Management, Mr Shehu Liman.

Ughamadu said that the bid opening exercise was conducted by the corporation in furtherance of its commitment to transparency in its procurement process.

According to him, NNPC is desirous of engaging reputable and competent firms of estate surveyors and valuers that can provide unparalleled and exceptional valuation and land acquisition services to the Corporation.

This he noted was to sustain its drive toward excellence in service delivery.

Ughamadu said the bid opening was in compliance with the Public Procurement Act.

He also assured bidders of a level playing field to guarantee the emergence of the best firm.

The NNPC spokesman said representatives of some of the bidding firms who witnessed the exercise expressed satisfaction with the process, describing the corporation as a transparent company. (NAN)
