Dust haze, clouds to prevail today, says NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Sunday, February 18, 2018:

NORTHERN STATES: Dust haze conditions are expected over the northern cities with visibility range of 1 – 3km; a few places will have visibility less than a 1,000m throughout the forecast period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32 – 39℃ and 17 – 20℃ respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Dust haze conditions are anticipated over this region with chances of localised thunderstorms over parts of Benue, Nasarawa, Ilorin and Kogi throughout the forecast period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 35 – 40℃ and 21 – 24℃ respectively, except over Jos where 31℃ /14℃ day and night temperatures are expected.

SOUTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected to prevail over this areas with chances of localised thunderstorms over Lagos, Ijebu, and Warri in the morning while localised rain are envisaged over Lagos, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Benin, Akure, and Enugu and its environs during the afternoon/evening period hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 – 38℃ and 21 – 26℃ respectively.
