The Lagos State Government has unveiled its plans for the forthcoming ‘Olamide Live in Lagos’ concert coming up at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere on Sunday, December 17, 2017, just as it stated that the entertainment industry is being used as a veritable platform for youth development and economic empowerment.
The State Acting Commissioner Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture, Mrs. Adebimpe Akinsola, speaking at a press briefing on the forthcoming event, said the decision to hold the show at the Stadium is in line with Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s vision for all-inclusive governance where no part of the state is left behind in the administration’s plans or policies.
“Olamide live in Lagos, the fourth of its kind is coming to the Mainland to ensure that every Lagosians enjoy fun-filled Yuletide. The State government does not only see the entertainment industry as rich tourism content but is also using it as a platform of economic empowerment and a means to showcase the budding talent amongst the youth in the creative and entertainment sector, ” she said.
The Acting Commissioner also said that as part of efforts to ensure that many Lagosians enjoy the concert, the State government has reduced the ticket fee for the show, adding that the present administration will go the extra length to promote and project the state’s entertainment industry on the global stage.
On his part, the Lagos State Acting Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, who was represented by Mr. Abiodun Alamutu, said adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure a hitch-free ‘Olamide Live in Lagos” concert just as the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said road diversions would commence by 6 a.m while the service lane would remain open to motorists.
Olamide, the Headline Artist, while responding to questions said he will be performing with other popular artists and promised Lagosians an exciting period.
