Weatherman forecasts cloudy condition in parts of the North, central region, localised thunderstorms and cloud in the South

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Thursday, October 12, 2017:

NORTHERN REGION: This region is expected to be in partly cloudy condition with the exception of the extreme northern part of the country that is expected to be under dust haze condition with horizontal visibility range of 3-5km in the morning. However, there are indications for localised sandstorm/thundery activities to affect places like Katsina, Nguru, Kano and Northern Maiduguri in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 36 – 39℃ and 20 – 25℃ respectively.

CENTRAL REGION: Partly cloudy conditions are to prevail over this region with chances of localised thunderstorm over Minna, Bida, Ilorin and some parts of Abuja in the morning hours. However, scattered thunderstorms are anticipated over this region in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 – 34℃ and 21 – 23℃ respectively, except over Jos where 29℃ and 18℃ day and night temperatures are expected.

SOUTHERN REGION: Localised thunderstorm conditions are expected over the south east inland throughout the forecast period, Cloudy situation is anticipated over the south west inland in the morning hours, there are prospects for localised thunderstorms over Akure, Benin, Abeokuta and Shaki in the afternoon/evening hours. Localised thunderstorm is anticipated over the coast like Port Harcourt, Uyo, Eket, Calabar and its environs throughout the forecast period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 28 – 33℃ and 21 – 23℃ respectively.
