Nigerian Senate has resolved to commiserate with the bereaved families who were victims of the recent flooding in Niger and Lagos states respectively and other affected areas.

The Upper Chamber therefore urged the Federal Government through the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) to intensify weather forecast and other efforts in areas that are likely to be affected by flood.

This followed a motion raised by the lawmaker representing Niger East, Senator David Umaru, citing order 42 and 52 on the flood that affected Suleja and other areas, during plenary on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Senator Buhari Abdulfatai also sought for a motion on the ongoing strike in Ladoke Akintola University which was approved for the next legislative day.
