The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Wednesday added ten additional states and the Federal Capital, Abuja among the areas that will take part in the scheduled May 30 sit-at-home order.

The states according to IPOB include Plateau, Kaduna, Kano, Adamawa, Benue, Jigawa, Taraba, Oyo, Edo, and Lagos.

In a statement made available to Journalists in Awka, by the Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Emma Powerful, the group urged its members to strictly observe the order wherever they would be.

The statement read, “This year’s Remembrance Day celebration of the group necessitating the sit-at-home would be unique and significant in every ramification.

“We the Indigenous People of Biafra under the leadership and command structure of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wish to declare once again that the 30th of May 2017 Remembrance Day celebration and sit-at-home order issued to honour and remember our fallen heroes and heroines must hold.

“The sit-at-home order must be extended to other parts of Nigeria where Biafrans and supporters of Biafra have presence.

“This sit-at-home order/remembrance and honour of our fallen heroes which is slated to be observed on 30th of May this year will be the best thing to happen to the people of Biafra since 50 years.

“It will be monitored by the international observers. After the 30th of May sit-at-home, the struggle for Biafra freedom will move to another level, therefore everybody both old and young, man and woman must stay indoors, no protest, no movement of any kind or vehicular in Biafra land from 6 in the morning to 6 o'clock in the evening on that fateful day.

“Biafrans all over the world must honour and remember our fallen heroes and heroines who died for our freedom between 1967 and 1970 and those who died during our peaceful rally and protest from August 30th 2015 till date.

“The Biafrans and IPOB members’ worldwide living outside the Biafra land must present a written letter containing the plights of our people to the authorities and governments of their respective countries.”

The group further said that IPOB under the leadership of Kanu has written to all state governors, market leaders, religious leaders and community leaders in Biafra land to help ensure that 30th of May is a memorable event in our history.
