Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have killed scores in Takum and Kurmi Local Government Area in Taraba State.

The residents of the areas are said to have fled their homes to seek refuge in neighbouring communities for fear of more attacks by the gunmen.

Spokesman for the governor, Sylvanus Yakubu-Giwa, confirmed the attack saying security agents have been deployed to the areas and the government will intensify efforts to protect lives and property.

He appealed to the residents to provide useful information to security agents to track down the perpetrators of the crime. (Channels TV)
