Senator Dino Melaye, lawmaker representing Kogi West and Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has decried the non-remittance of subsidy funds accrued into the federation account.

He disclosed this on Tuesday while raising a petition on the monumental corruption in the Nigerian Oil Sector, noting that PMS and AGO are stored in some private tank farms and subsequently disappear in mysterious circumstances.

He reminded his colleagues during the plenary session that the current Senate President Bukola Saraki, also raised a motion in 2011 on the N1.5 trillion subsidy scam and craved further investigation on oil proceeds.

Responding, Saraki remarked that the motion raised by Senator Melaye is important and expects the substantive motion be included in the next legislative day which is tomorrow.

Saraki said: “NNPC is a great source of revenue for all Nigerians and we’ll wait for that motion tomorrow.”
