Since 1992, IFES has hosted a flagship event, the U.S. Election Programme (USEP), which brings together election officials, parliamentarians and diplomats from around the world to observe and learn about the U.S. electoral system as well as discuss elections and voting from comparative international perspectives.

The 2016 U.S. Election Programme, which this year will be immediately followed by the Seventh Global Elections Organization (GEO-7) Conference. The combined opened Sunday, November 6, through Thursday, November 10, 2016.
