Some members of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) undertaking their youth service in Akwa Ibom State, have commended the good works of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke, in the area of youth development and education.

During a courtesy visit to the Speaker at the State House of Assembly on Monday, Jeyema Omatsola, leader of the Corp members remarked that the 6th Assembly, under the speakership of Luke, is contributing so much in the area of youth development and education, adding that such kind gesture is rare and exemplary.

In a statement made available to News Express by the Media Aide to the Speaker, Mr. Victor John, Mr. Speaker in his brief response, charged the members to rise above the thoughts of sectionalism and religious inclinations and make themselves united.

“You have to rise beyond the thinking of ethnicity and tribalism as we see today being displayed in the country. It will not take you anywhere. You must associate in unity, regard yourself as one as you remain the leaders of tomorrow. You must ensure you don’t involve sentiment in carrying out your daily activities in your service to humanity,” the Speaker said.

He further tasked the Corp members to think of what the members can do and the intellectual ideas that could be dispensed to assist the 6th Assembly under his speakership.
Honourable members that also attended the courtesy visit include:
Rt. Hon. Princess Felicia Deputy speaker, Hon. Prince Idongesit (Itu), Hon. Otobong idem (Mkpat enin), Hon. Samuel Ufo (MBO), Hon. Otobong Akpan (Ukanafun), Hon. Dennis Akpan  (Etinan), Hon. Friday Iwok (Abak), Hon. Mark Esset (Nsit Atai), Hon. Asuquo Edet Archibong (Urue Offong/Oruku).
