Leslie Sedibe, the Proudly South African CEO who was involved in a probe of soccer match-fixing when he headed Safa, is leaving Proudly South African.

He has been CEO of the organisation for five years.
Sedibe said he planned to pursue other interests and opportunities in the private sector, including further studies.
“While we have been able to celebrate many highlights and major achievements along the way, Proudly South African has also managed to overcome many challenges, and has grown in strength and stature,” he said.
During his tenure, Sedibe strongly advocated for consumers to buy locally manufactured products to sustain and create employment.
This formed part of Proudly South African’s nationwide campaign that ran under the theme, “Be Proudly South African — Buy Local to Create Jobs”.
However, he was also the subject of a Fifa match-fixing probe before the 2010 World Cup, when he served as South African Football Association (Safa) CEO, from January 2010 to February 2011.
In March this year he was fined Sf20‚000 and banned by Fifa from all football-related activities for five years over findings in the match-fixing probe.
Proudly South African said it would announce the process to recruit the new CEO in the coming weeks.
