Community Gives Chevron one-week ultimatum

The Benikrukru Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom of Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, yesterday, issued a one week ultimatum to Chevron Nigeria Limited, over alleged marginalisation of the community in the areas of contracts, employment and corporate social responsibility of the company to the community.

The Indigenes of Benikruku communities, said though, series of letters have been written to the management of chevron to review their faulty policies on host community relationship, the decision to issue a one week ultimatum is a deliberate action against breakdown of law and order in the area.
The Benikruku community, in a statement issued yesterday in Warri ‎and signed by the Chairman, Mr. Victor E. Eseimieghan and Secretary, Mr.Boan Roland Ojogun, alleged that Chevron Nigeria Limited has been flagrantly violating the local content requirements in the area of contracts in their dealings with Benikrukru Community over the years.
