NiMET predicts cloudy weather and thunderstorms today

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Thursday, May 19, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Cloudiness is expected over some places around Sokoto, Kano, Gusau and Katsina in the morning. Maiduguri also is expected to have localised thunderstorm later in the day. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 33- 41oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Localised thunderstorm is anticipated in the morning over Bauchi, Kaduna, Minna , Jos and Abuja. Chances of isolated thunderstorm over the high grounds of central states including Abuja, Bida and Nasarawa in the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 27-32oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Isolated thunderstorm is expected over the coast and inland cities around Lagos, Oshogbo and Akure in the morning with chances of localised thunderstorm later in the day over some places like Port-Harcourt, Calabar, Enugu, Awka and Owerri axis. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 30-33oC.
