One-time Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Ojo Maduekwe, has been elected as the new Secretary to the Board of Trustee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A THISDAY breaking news said he was elected at a meeting of the BoT which is still ongoing at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja. It said that Senator Waheed Jibril was endorsed as the substantive chairman of the body during the meeting.
The paper said it gathered that although PDP National Chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, tried to reconcile with the aggrieved BoT members, some of them are still not satisfied and may be trying to conclude the election of new leadership before asserting themselves.
“One of their grievances is an alleged move by the Sheriff-led NWC to amend the constitution of the party in order to muzzle and control the BOT and thereby subject it to the whims and caprices of the NWC,” the report said.
