It’s dust haze al the way today across Nigeria, says NiMET

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Friday, February 12, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Dust haze conditions are expected over the region except cities like Maiduguri, Gombe, Nguru and Bauchi that will be under thick dust haze. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 11-15oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Abuja, Bida, Lafia, Ilorin and Makurdi will experience dust haze. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 14-18oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Dust haze conditions are also expected over this region. Calabar and Eket will experience partly cloudy situation. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 20-23oC.

NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and dusty. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks.
