The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Sunday, February 7, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Thick dust haze is anticipated especially in Kano, Katsina, Nguru, Gusau, Sokoto and Gombe. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 13-19oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Moderate dust haze in visibility values of 2-5km are anticipated over Abuja, Bida, Makurdi, Minna and Kaduna. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 17-22oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Moderate dust haze is expected to prevail over the inland cities while the coastal cities will experience partly cloudy conditions with prospect of rain showers within the forecast period. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 19-25oC.

NOTE: During this period of the year, the atmosphere is usually very dry, windy and dusty. Citizens should avoid substances that may ignite easily to reduce incidences of fire outbreaks. Flight operations may be disrupted due to poor visibility in some airports across the country.
