The Kaduna State Government, on Tuesday acknowledged owing salaries of workers for the month of September.

The Permanent Secretary, office of the Head of Service, Alhaji Luqman Musa told newsmen after the state Executive Council meeting in Kaduna, that those owed had problems with their data during the recent verification of workers conducted in the state.

The permanent secretary made the clarification amidst outcry by some civil servants, who claimed that they had not been paid for over three months.

According to him, the state government has since commenced the payment of the September arrears.

Luqman also said that Gov. Nasir El-Rufa’i had directed a new bank to handle the verification of all those yet to be paid at the conclusion of the last exercise. (NAN)
