The Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly. Rt. Hon. Martins Okechukwu Azubuike, has described Tuesday’s ruling of the Abia State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Umuahia, upholding the election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as a sound verdict and a confirmation that Dr. Ikpeazu’s victory is a divine mandate by God and the good people of Abia State that voted massively for him during the April 11 gubernatorial election.

In a release endorsed by his Chief Press Secretary, Prince Clinton Uba, the Speaker thanked God for the victory and said it has re-affirmed the supremacy of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State. He said the success of PDP at the tribunal ruling is a total victory for all Abians.

The Speaker commended all the executives and members of the PDP in Abia as well as the electorates for their faith in PDP and Gov. Ikpeazu.

He thanked Abians for the peaceful manner they conducted themselves during the election and their patience before the delivery of the judgment.

The Speaker described the APGA candidate, Dr. Alex Otti as a civilised politician and a democrat for believing in the rule of law and, advised that now that the supremacy of the letters and spirit of the Constitution has validated the PDP victory, he should join hands with Gov. Ikpeazu to re-build Abia.

Rt. Hon. Azubuike assured Abians that Gov. Okezie Victor will not disappoint them as there are truths that are self evident that Abia is certainly experiencing renewal and a return from amnesia as the Governor has placed Abia on the right path of growth, development and greatness and enjoined all Abians to support the present administration.
