Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai on Saturday condoled with the families that lost children to the flood in Kachia local government, while also expressing sympathy to residents that lost property to the flood incidents across the state.

The Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, Samuel Aruwan disclosed this in a press statement.

“The governor received with sadness news of the death of two children in the Kachia flood. On behalf of the government and people of the state, the governor prayed Almighty God to grant their souls eternal rest and give their parents strength to bear this painful loss.”

The Special Assistant added that the governor also expressed sympathy for citizens that lost their houses, business premises and farms to the flood.

The governor further explained that the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) is presently carrying out a comprehensive assessment of the situation, and will be submitting a report to the state government for prompt action and intervention.

Heavy rains this week have flooded communities in Kachia town and neighborhoods within the Kaduna metropolis and other parts of the state.
