A female suicide bomber has blown herself up after detonating explosives at Dangi Jumat Mosque in Kano State.

Police spokesman in the State, Magaji Majia, confirmed the incident but said he was not sure if there were other casualties.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the Boko Haram terrorists group is highly suspected. They have carried out similar attacks in different locations in the north-east, their stronghold.

The attack is coming hours after two bomb explosions left at least 44 persons dead in Jos, the capital of Plateau State.

After the explosion, the State’s Governor ordered the re-establishment of military check pints at strategic locations across the state to address security crisis.
