The Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos Command of the Nigerian Customs Service has said that it did not arrest Kabiru Aregbesola, son of Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola for alleged money laundering on May 12, 2105, as widely alleged by some persons in the media.

The media reports had stated that the governor’s son was on his way to the United Arab Emirates aboard an Emirates Airlines when he was allegedly nabbed with a huge amount of money.

But the Acting Public Relations Officer, MMIA Command, NCS, Mr Victor Ogagbo, told newsmen at the airport, on Thursday, that the report was false.

Ogagbo explained that some people made inquiries regarding the said “arrest”, saying he had told them that the governor’s son was not arrested by the command anywhere at the Lagos airport.

“The report is false. We did not arrest him. People made inquiry that period and we told them it was false,” Ogagbo said.
